More Leyna Fun…
Things are going well with Leyna. We brought her to the vet this week, and she has gained 2 kg- my little gordita!!! Other than that, we’re just dealing with the normal puppy things- biting, housebreaking, and obedience. Having a puppy really lets me know, that I’m not ready for a baby yet because, 1. I have gotten really, really mad at her when she was biting and scratching and making me bleed, and yes, little horns popped out of my head, and a vein was pulsating (can’t do that with a baby), and 2. we brought her to the park today and were running around, and I thought, wouldn’t it be fun to put her on a swing. So I held her and we started swinging, and she got squirmy, and oops, I dropped her. Now she squeaks when you try to pick her up, like she’s afraid of falling. Thankfully, we’ve been picking her up all night, and she’s now getting better, no worries. But I really couldn’t drop a baby on the ground. So all in all, I am perfectly content with my little puppy and will leave the child raising to all my friends.

She’s so cute!
I had a similar “I’m not ready for a baby” moment when I left a gallon of milk in my shopping cart in the parking lot of a grocery store. You can’t do that with a baby.

You also can’t put a baby in a side room with some water and a toy on the floor and go out whenever you want. Well, you can but they tend to frown on that.

And you can’t substitute leftover meatloaf for baby formula when you run out!

She does look bigger in these pictures!Does she bark a lot, like a certain dog we won’t mention? By the way, that certain dog we won’t mention is still very barky, but doing very well and looks as cute (especially with her winter sweater on) as ever.

Fortunately, perfection is not required for motherhood. A certain baby we both know flipped off his changing table at 2 months and was locked in a car at the mall at 4 months and he still seems basically okay. Although that might account for his taste in moves! :>)
Are you beginning to wonder why you got the BIG DOG instead of the little kitten?

I wouldn’t worry about the dog/baby issues, in my opinion puppies are way harder than babies. Babies don’t chew and scratch on everything, and you can put diapers on them!

Not to mention that you love you baby about 1000 times more than your dog (no, I didn’t think this was possible, but it is…)
Oh, and you don’t have to worry about running out of formula and having to substitute meatloaf if you breastfeed!
